Riau Police Chief Removes Rumbai Police Chief In The Aftermath Of 10 Prisoners Escaped Through Septic Tanks

Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal removed Iptu Putra Amor from the position of Kapolsek Rumbai, Pekanbaru, in the aftermath of the escape of 10 prisoners through septic tanks some time ago.

In addition to being removed from office, Iptu Putra Amor is also undergoing examination in the Profession and Security Division of the Riau Police.

"Yes, it's true that it has been removed," said Inspector General Iqbal, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 21.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Hery Murwono, also said that Iptu Putra Amor is currently still under investigation by the Riau Police Propam.

Apart from the police chief, several members of the Rumbai Police who were on picket at the time of the incident were also questioned by the Pekanbaru Police and the Riau Police Propam.

"Information from the Head of Propam, is still under investigation and investigation," said Hery.

Previously, 10 detentions from the Rumbai Police with various cases were reported to have escaped from the detention cell some time ago. These detainees were entangled in various cases, namely theft, abuse of minors, embezzlement and drug abuse.

After escaping for about 10 days, 10 detainees with the initials RR, RNY, RF, MA, HI, SC, DS, NW, A and DP were again arrested in various locations. Four of them were rewarded with gunfire because they had given resistance when they were about to be arrested.

"The mastermind behind the idea of escaping is A. The trick is to dig the detention toilet which directly leads to a septic tank," said Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Jefri Ronald Parulian Siagian.

According to Jefri, prisoners use melamin plates that are usually used to eat to find a way out. "This plan was carried out by the suspects in just a matter of hours," said Jefri.

When he just breathed the outside air, one of the suspects even returned to commit a crime. Suspect NO was desperate to steal cell phones and motorbikes in the Rumbai District area.
