Commission II Of The DPR And The Government Agree To Form A Panja Revision Of The IKN Law

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR together with the government agreed to form a working committee (Panja) to discuss the revision of the Law (RUU) concerning Amendments to Law (UU) Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital (IKN).

The draft IKN Bill was submitted by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa, presenting an introduction which was followed by an explanation/government statement at the DPRRI Commission II meeting to schedule a working meeting (Raker) at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 21.

"The working meeting to discuss today's draft law does not take too long. Because the first is the introduction of the chair of the meeting, this is ongoing. Then ask the government for an explanation of this bill. Then later the draft bill will be submitted," said Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia.

After the submission of the draft revision of the IKN Law, Doli read out the agenda for the next meeting, namely the formation of the Working Committee (Panja) for the Revision of the IKN Law.

"By explaining and submitting the draft law symbolically, we can immediately help the committee," said Doli.

Doli also instructed the leaders of the faction group (Kapoksi) to submit the names of the committee no later than Tuesday, August 22, tomorrow.

"To the kapoksi to be able to submit the names of members of the Panja no later than August 22, 2023 and at the same time hand over the dim to the secretariat of Commission II no later than August 30, 2023," said Doli Kurnia.

Furthermore, Doli asked for approval from the meeting participants to be able to approve the formation of the Panja Revision of the IKN Law.

Before I close, can we agree and ratify the formation of this panja? said Doli.

"Agreed," replied the meeting participant.

"Thus, we can end this meeting and then we will continue with the next long meetings. By saying alhamdulillahirabbilalamin, I declare this first-degree working meeting closed," said Doli.
