While Waiting For Investigations Related To Collision In Sorong, Pertamina Strives For Substitute Ships For Fuel Distribution

SORONG - Area Manager Communication, Relations and CSR of Pertamina Parta Niaga Papua-Maluku Regional, Edi Mangun, explained that currently his party is waiting for the results of an investigation from the KSOP team regarding the SPOB Sinar Bintuni ship that crashed in Sorong waters, Southwest Papua Province. "The result is that we do not know exactly what the incident is related to. Pertamina is currently waiting for the results of the investigation from the KSOP Team," explained Edi Mangun via a short message received in Sorong, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 16. The SPOB Sinar Bintuni ship experienced a collision incident while transporting Pertamin's fuel oil (BBM) with a volume of 215 Kiloliters of fuel total cargo which will be distributed to the Kompak Teluk Bintuni gas station in Bintuni Regency, West Papua Province. "The SPOB Sinar Bintuni ship collided with the Pioneer Ship KM 03, precisely in the waters of Seget, Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua Province on Saturday at 02.30 WIT," explained Edi Mangun. He admitted, based on the results of the report there were no casualties. However, Pertamina will continue to wait for the results of the KSOP investigation to find out in detail the incident. "We have received reports that there were no casualties in the incident. We have also dispatched a team to check whether there was a fuel spill, so that we can make further efforts if there is oil that sticks at the scene," he said. In addition to waiting for the results of the investigation by the KSOP team, Pertamina is also trying to prepare a replacement ship to continue distributing fuel to compact gas stations in Teluk Bintuni Regency.

"Surely we will immediately prepare a replacement ship for the SPOB Sinar Bintuni Ship to distribute fuel to Teluk Bintuni Regency," he said.
