JAKARTA - The police have delegated the case of a Thai man entering the women's bathroom booth during the Jambore Pramuka Internasional 2023 which was held recently to the prosecutor's office for further investigation.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Police said on Wednesday the Jambore participants were referred on charges of entry without permission, as reported by KBS World August 16.

The man was accused of bathing in a women's facility at the jambore camp which was held in Saemangeum on August 2.

A female participant who heard the man sing in the bathroom reported the case to organizers and committees. He was then subject to warnings and was considered an incident due to a 'cultural difference', as quoted by the Korea Times.

Later, police began an investigation into the man who played the adult supervisor at the request of the woman, who suspected her actions of violating the law. However, sexual motivation of alleged violations is excluded.

Previously, the Thai Government in response had apologized for the incident. Atthaphon Sangkhwa-si, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education said the ministry sent people to coordinate with the Thai Embassy in Seoul to remove the leader of the Thai scout from the camp. Instead, placed a new leader in charge. The minister also sent a letter of apology to South Korea, as reported by Khaosodenglish.

As for Suthin Kaewpana, secretary general of the National Guidelines Office, said the suspect was a senior scout commander in charge of a group of nine scouters who left Thailand on July 31 and arrived in South Korea on August 1.
