BOGOR - A baby boy is suspected of being swapped since one year ago, after being born on a fault basis at Sentosa Hospital in Bogor on July 18, 2022. The victim's family asked the hospital to take responsibility.
Siti Mauliah's attorney, Rusdy Ridho, confirmed this and told the chronology of the case that happened to his client.
"So last year, July 18, 2022, my client Siti Mauliah gave birth on a fault basis at Sentosa Hospital in Bogor. The first day is still being breastfed. On the second day the baby is given again, it feels strange because psychologically it may feel different when breastfeeding on the second day," Rusdy said based on the victim's statement on Thursday, August 10.
Rusdy continued, explaining on the third day when the victim's family wanted to return home the hospital bought a baby whose bracelet was swapped with another baby's bracelet.
"Then, on the third day when she was about to go home, the nurse went home saying this was on behalf of the mother who was patient B, 'oh no on behalf of Siti Mauliah's mother'. There it started to be exchanged, it turned out to be the bracelet. However, at that time the nurse said it was just a fall or an exchange (the eagle), "he explained.
When she came home, the nurse came again the next day asking about the bracelet. Usually, the bracelet is stored, how come it can be taken away. When asked for the bracelet again, it was true on behalf of the other patient's bracelet," he added.
Then when the victim realized that there was an error from the exchange of bracelets, the hospital again convinced the victim that it had happened because the bracelet was the only one that was swapped. The incident passed a year ago.
"So when we took over, two months ago, I was the attorney for DNA testing at the hospital. That's right, when the DNA test was at the Campaka Putih Jakarta lab, the result was that the baby in our client was not the baby," he said.
The victim's family suspected that another patient was a victim in this case and then mediated and asked other victims to do a DNA test but this was rejected, until Siti's mother finally took legal action to ask for accountability from the hospital.
"Yes, our talent is another baby. The mother's baby doesn't know where it is right now. So we ask the hospital to be responsible, try to bring in another party, but the other party doesn't want a DNA test. Finally, we made a complaint to the Bogor Police unit PPA to ask for a settlement from the police," he said.
"It's been (mediated), the hospital has mediated, but it's still presumption, because I just have a new DNA test. The result is not his child, if the other party has not tested for DNA," he added.

The results until now, Rusdy's client still does not know the whereabouts of her child who was swapped with another patient's child.
"Now we are waiting for an investigation from the PPA Unit. Surely we will sue civilly for the losses that have been suffered by our client," he said.
