Regarding The Discount On Ferdy Sambo Cs' Cassation Decision, KY Asks To Ask The Supreme Court Directly

The Judicial Commission (KY) is reluctant to respond to the Supreme Court (MA) cassation decision against four convicted perpetrators of premeditated murder Brigadier J. Starting from the convict Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawati, Ricky Rizal, to Strong Ma'ruf received leniency.

"KY monitors this case from the start. However, regarding the decision, it is better to ask the Supreme Court for an explanation because it is the Supreme Court who is the one who tried and decided this case," said KY Spokesperson Miko Ginting when contacted by reporters from Jakarta, Wednesday, August 9, quoted by Antara.

Miko said that the Supreme Court was more authorized to provide an explanation regarding Ferdy Sambo and his friends' cassation decision. However, Miko emphasized that KY had monitored the case from the start.

"I think it is better to ask for an explanation from the Supreme Court because it was the Supreme Court that decided this case," he added.

Previously, the Supreme Court sentenced former Head of the Professional and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) of the National Police Ferdy Sambo to life imprisonment, from the death penalty.

Meanwhile, Putri Candrawathi, who is Ferdy Sambo's wife, was sentenced to ten years in prison, from the previous 20 years.

Ricky Rizal's sentence has also become lighter, namely eight years in prison, from the previous 13 years, and Strong Ma'ruf from who was previously sentenced to 15 years in prison, to ten years.

The decision was conveyed by the Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of the Supreme Court Sobandi at a press conference at the MA Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 8, after the closed trial which started at 13.00 to 17.00 WIB.

The panel of judges who decided the cassation case were Suhadi as chairman of the assembly, with four members of the panel including Suharto, Jupriyadi, Desnayeti, and Yohanes Priyana.

Sobandi said the Supreme Court's decision had been signed. Even so, the defendant can still take extraordinary legal action by submitting a review.
