TANGERANG - Police revealed that one of the 10 perpetrators of extorting hotel guests in Tangerang was a woman. Extortion by this gang used the mode of threatening victims related to reporting and reporting to the police.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Metro Police, Kompol Rio Mikael Tobing, said the woman with the initials SH (26) played a role in finding the identity of the victim.

"The female perpetrator approached the victim's female friend by asking the identity (of the victim)," Rio told reporters at the Tangerang City Metro Police, Wednesday, August 9.

After getting the victim's identity, SH spread to a group containing suspects extorting hotel guests. They immediately shared roles to smooth out their actions.

"Then the information was sent through the WhatsApp group my love, they used this means of communication for communication when carrying out the action," he said.

There were 14 perpetrators who were arrested by the police in this case. Ten people were named as suspects.

The arrests were made based on public reports about a case of alleged extortion at a hotel in Tangerang City.
