Minister Of PUPR: JPO JIS-Ancol Liaison Immediately Built

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimoeljono stated that his party would soon build a pedestrian bridge (JPO) as access connecting the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) with the Ancol area.

"We have prepared those outside, we have investigated the land for the pedestrian bridge to Ancol, the design is done," explained Basuki after attending the World's Largest Angklung Event, at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Saturday, August 5 evening, quoted from Antara.

JIS was proposed as one of the stadiums for use in organizing the U-17 World Cup. Basuki said that his party did not yet know whether JIS would be used in the U-17 World Cup or not.

"What is clear is that my task at Public Works is to build the bridge. We use it or not by U-17," he explained.

The JPO connecting Ancol-JIS length is projected to reach 400 meters with a width of 5 meters. The bridge construction time is estimated to be more than two months.

The Ministry of PUPR will hold a meeting with related parties next Wednesday. In the meeting, a direct appointment will be made to the parties who will work on the JPO development project.
