Ridwan Kamil Believes That The Acting Governor Has No Difficulty Leading West Java

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK) believes that whoever is the acting governor in charge of replacing himself has no trouble leading West Java because there are quite a lot of improvements and reforms made in the province during his leadership period.

Therefore, he assessed that the Acting Governor of West Java who replaced him after he retired on September 5, 2023, would feel comfortable leading the province.

"Anyone who will be elected, I am sure it will be safe, comfortable, because West Java has relatively many reforms, progress, just stay well cared for for for 1.5 years as a temporary official," said Ridwan Kamil as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 3.

Kang Emil estimates that his replacement name will be announced within 1.2 weeks before his retirement.

"Whatever it is, the decision rests with the authority of Pak (President) Jokowi so that when I ended September 5 it should have been a week, two weeks earlier it was decided who (the replacement) was," said the Governor of West Java.

So far, the West Java DPRD has proposed three names for the position of Acting Governor replacing Ridwan Kamil, namely the Director General of Law and Law of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Asep N. Mulyana, Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy at Padjadjaran University, Keri Lestari, and Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Beyvi Machmudin.

However, the proposal, which will be given to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, can also come from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Yang dari Kementerian Dalam Negeri saya belum tahu," kata Ridwan Kamil.

Ridwan Kamil also answered reporters' questions regarding plans after serving as Governor of West Java.

"I want to take a trip around the world," he said.

However, when asked about the opportunity to be proposed as a vice presidential candidate by a political party, RK refused to answer.

"Later, that's it. The hilal hasn't been seen yet," said RK.
