Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata stated that the application of the bribery article made the Head of the National SAR Agency (Kabasarnas) Marshal Henri Alfiandi and Koorsmin Head of Basarnas Lt. Col. Afri Budi Cahyanto remain announced as suspects on Thursday, July 25. In fact, at that time there was no issued investigation warrant (sprindik).

"Because in principle bribery is a giver and recipient. So we say we set five people," Alexander said at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 31.

Apart from Henri and Afri, the KPK also appointed three private parties besides the giver. They are the President Commissioner of PT Multi Grafika Cipta Sejati Mulsunadi Gunawan, President Director of PT Intertekno Grafika Sejati Marilya, Managing Director of PT Kunji Abadi Utama Roni Aidil.

Alexander confirmed that they already had strong evidence of the actions of the five suspects. However, the sprindik against Henri and Afri was not issued by the KPK because it was handed over to the TNI.

"If when the perpetrators of the crime are still active, the handling will be carried out by the TNI Puspom," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK's move to announce Henri and Afri as suspects was highlighted by former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo. The reason was that at that time the KPK only issued a sprindik for three private parties who were caught in a silent operation in the Basarnas environment.

"The legal administration should have been when people have been announced to the public as suspects, when it was determined when the case was held there should have been a sprindik," said Yudi during a conversation with VOI, Monday, July 31.

Yudi explained materially, the KPK would have pocketed evidence of the involvement of the two active soldiers in the alleged bribery in the procurement of equipment at Basarnas. "But again that this is a formal," he said.

"So it will be very unusual when people are named as suspects but there is no sprindik. This is one of the polemics," said Yudi.
