The Karawang Resort Police (Polres) shot the leg of the perpetrator of the persecution of a herbal medicine shop trader to death in the Lemakabang District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

"The perpetrator was arrested a few days ago at his hiding place, in the Batujaya District," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.

The perpetrator was shot in the leg for trying to resist when he was about to be arrested by officers.

From the arrest, the police confiscated evidence in the form of broken bottles, victim's clothes, chairs with bloodstains and one badik.

The persecution took place in Selang II Hamlet, Ciwaringin Village, Lematabang Karawang District, on Tuesday (18/7), at around 22.30 WIB.

When the incident happened, the victim with the initials F (37 years old) was abused by the perpetrator with the initials S (31).

The persecution was carried out by beating the victim using an alcoholic drink bottle into the victim's head.

After that, the perpetrator repeatedly stabbed a knife into the victim's waist.

The abuse occurred because the perpetrator was disappointed and angry because he was refused when he asked for free alcoholic drinks by the victim.

"So the perpetrator did not accept it, where when the perpetrator came to the victim's herbal medicine shop, the perpetrator asked for a free drink. The perpetrator was refused by the victim with only Rp5,000 in cash," he said.

The perpetrator is threatened with a sentence of Article 170 paragraph (2) to 3 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 351 paragraph (3), with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years.
