SULTENG - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of Central Sulawesi Province (Sulteng) arrested Marjono, a suspect in the corruption case of village funds that were on the wanted list (DPO) of the Luwu District Attorney's Office, South Sulawesi (Sulsel).

"After the suspect's whereabouts were detected, the Luwu Kejari Intelligence team coordinated with the Central Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office, and we assisted in the arrest process," said Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasipenkum) of the Central Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Mohammad Ronald in Palu, Friday, July 28, as reported by Antara.

Marjono as the Head of Padang Kamburi Village, Bua Ponrang District, Luwu Regency, Central Sulawesi, is suspected of having committed a criminal act of corruption in the Village Fund (ADD) budget for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 budget years worth Rp. 300 million.

Ronald explained that the suspect Marjono was arrested in the parking lot of PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) in Bahodopi, Morowali Regency, Thursday, July 27 at around 19.00 WITA. Marjono was arrested after returning from work at PT IMIP.

After being secured, the suspect went straight down to the Morowali Kejari office.

"Then next, the suspect was immediately escorted to the Luwu District Attorney using a four-wheeled vehicle with two escorts from the Luwu District Attorney's Office," he said.

Marjono entered the Luwu Kejari DPO on September 6, 2022. The suspect has been on the run for about 10 months.

Previously, he was three times absent from the Luwu Kejari's summons on August 9, 10 and 15, 2022.
