The Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta said that there was an adjustment to the Jakarta Phase 1B Light Rail Transit (LRT) development target with the Velodorme-Manggarai route, which was originally planned for completion in 2024.
Heru admitted, in 2024, it is targeted that the construction of the LRT phase 1B route will only be completed until the Scout Flyover point.
"The target is maybe in 2024 the process will be gradual. Later it can be maximized to the Scout Flyover side. There, we will function it from the Velodrome to the Scout Flyover," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 28.
Heru admitted that the government needs to take a deeper look at the plan for the route from the Scout Flyover point to Manggarai Station which is considered more congested. This is intended so that the construction of the route to Manggarai does not encounter problems.
"Further construction from the intersection of Jalan Pramuka to Manggarai requires effort, special attention is needed because there are many facilities and infrastructure that must be strictly calculated. That's roughly the case," explained Heru.
Until now, the plan for the construction of the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT is still in the settlement of project tender procurement. The hope is that the groundbreaking or ground-breaking construction will be carried out no later than next September.
"We hope that this August or at the latest of September we ask for ground breaking. Next, if it's ground breaking, it means that the auction process has been going on, right. Just do it physically," he said.
In addition, Assistant for the Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat Sri Haryati targets the construction of the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT until the last station, namely in Manggarai, to be completed in 2026.
Meanwhile, from 2024 to 2026, DKI will conduct a trial operation in stages.
"God willing, in September 2024 we will be able to trial for the partial up to Rawamangun. God willing, it will operate in a limited way in June 2026. But in 2024 to 2026 we will be able to trial," added Sri.
It is planned that the 1B phase of the Jakarta LRT has 5 stations with a length of 6.4 kilometers, namely Youth Station, BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.
So far, as many as 6 LRT stations have operated with a length of 5.2 kilometers in phase 1. So, if the 1B phase has been built, the Jakarta LRT has a route length of 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations ranging from Pegangsaan Dua Station to Manggarai Station.
When fully operational, the Jakarta LRT is targeted to carry 185 thousand passengers per day. However, based on the results of a feasibility study or feasibility study, the estimated passengers of the Jakarta LRT are around 80 thousand to 100 thousand people per day.
