Ridwan Kamil Visits Wuling Headquarters In China, Picks Up Electric Car Investment Balls In West Java

West Java (Jabar) Governor M Ridwan Kamil traveled abroad to Guangxi province, China. Kang Emil visited the electric car industry in Liu Zhou City, Guangxi, China.

The visit was one of the pick-up efforts made by the West Java Provincial Government in increasing investment in West Java.

"Because of the concept, we must be diligent in picking up the ball, not waiting for the ball. Because the sustenance must be picked up, not awaited. That's why we visited Wuling Motor's headquarters in Liu Zhou City, Guangxi," said Governor Ridwan Kamil in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.

The result of the visit, said Governor Ridwan Kamil, was an investment agreement of IDR 2 trillion for the development of the Wuling electric car industry in West Java.

"Incidentally, Wuling's headquarters is in Liu Zhou City, which is a sister city with the city of Bandung. And the province of Guangxi is a sister province with West Java," he said.

"In Liu Zhou City, the electric car population is approaching 60 percent. The highest in the world. The city is clean and minimal pollution," he added.

The West Java Provincial Government has received a target for investment realization, both from Domestic Capital Planters (PMDN) and Foreign Capital Planters (PMA), amounting to Rp188.01 trillion in 2023.

A number of strategies were also prepared to realize the target. One of them is by applying the concept of picking up the ball.

Previously, in the West Java Investment Forum Semester 1 2023 at the Trans Hotel Bandung some time ago, Kang Emil said that apart from communicating with potential investors, collaboration with various intense parties was carried out.

In six consecutive years, the realization of West Java Province's investment was the highest in Indonesia.

Strengthen cooperation

In addition to visiting the electric car industry,

Governor Ridwan Kamil also attended a meeting with the Governor of Guangxi in PDLN to China. The meeting took place on July 26, 2023 in the city of Nanning, China.

The meeting was also an important momentum in West Java-Guangxi relations and cooperation. This was marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Update of Sister Province Cooperation between West Java-Guangxi which was established in 2017.

The scope of cooperation includes the development of Human Resources, tourism and culture, trade and investment, development of urban and rural transportation systems, as well as the development of science and technology.

One of them is increasing cooperation in the automotive industry together to build integrated areas and increase investment in industrial estate development in West Java.

Meanwhile, Governor Ridwan Kamil conveyed the need for a good partnership between Indonesia and China.

"To move forward Indonesia's vision with a world number 4 economy, we must maintain economic growth at least 5 percent per year so that we have planned 13 new industrial cities in West Java," he said.

In addition, Governor Ridwan Kamil also said that his party would follow up on the momentum of special invitations for West Java to participate in the China ASEAN Expo which is planned to take place in September 2023 in Nanning, Guangxi.

"Regarding energy issues, Indonesia will oversupply renewable energy potentials to be exported worldwide. We invite investors from China to invest in this area. So far what is quite superior is solar energy," he said.

At the end of the meeting, Governor Ridwan Kamil said he would place Guangxi Province as one of the priority partners on various occasions.
