Elementary School Building In Palangkaraya Burns, Students Are Forced To Be Moved

PALANGKARAYA - The Langkai State Elementary School (SDN) building on Jalan Nyai Balau, Palangkaraya City, Central Kalimantan was burned down, Monday evening, July 24. Teaching and learning activities were transferred to a temporary school. Head of the Palangkaraya City Fire and Rescue Service Gloriana Aden said the fire occurred in four rooms of SDN 9 Langkai, Langkai Village, Pahandut District starting at 22.05 WIB. "The alleged electrical short circuit, characterized by the irradiation of the fire along the electrical cable in the room," Gloriana said, Tuesday, July 25 morning. He explained that the police officers who were around the scene would carry out an investigation related to the incident., the fire did not cause any casualties, but the flames that almost ate up the entire school building were successfully extinguished by dozens of firefighters (damkar) at the scene. "Fortunately, more than half an hour, the burning fire was successfully extinguished by the fire team at the location," he said. Even though the fire had been successfully extinguished, the firefighters are currently carrying out cooling to ensure that the fire had actually been completely extinguished.

He also admitted that the incident had caused a stir among residents around the scene and users of Jalan Nyai Balau and its surroundings. "Officers have also given a police line, so that the location cannot be entered by the community, in order to investigate," he said. The officers immediately processed the crime scene (TKP) to find out the cause of the fire.
