JAKARTA - Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is listed as the airport managed by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) serving the highest number of passenger and aircraft movements in the first semester of 2023.
The airport, which is the air gate of Bali Island, recorded that it has served 9.7 million passenger movements and 64,648 aircraft movements throughout the first half of 2023.
"I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali is also the airport of Angkasa Pura I (AP I) which recorded the highest passenger growth from 15 airports that we managed in the first semester of 2023," said PT Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.
The number of passenger movements in the first semester of 2023 jumped by 127 percent compared to records in the first semester of 2022 which reached 4.3 million passenger movements.
Meanwhile, aircraft movements grew by 103 percent compared to the first semester of 2022, which reached 31,872 aircraft movements.

In second and third place is AP1 airport with the highest number of passenger movements in the first semester of 2023, namely Juanda Airport Surabaya and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar.
Juanda Airport Surabaya serves as many as 6.8 million passenger movements which are divided into 5.8 million passengers on domestic routes and 945,557 passengers on international routes.
Meanwhile, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar serves 5.2 million passenger movements, which are divided into 5 million passengers on domestic routes and 181,351 passengers on international routes.
As for the most aircraft movements, Juanda Airport is in second place with 47,031 movements consisting of 41,353 movements of domestic routes and 5,678 movements of international routes.
Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar serves the third most aircraft movements with 41,087 movements consisting of 40,013 movements of domestic routes and 1,074 movements of international routes.
"If accumulated, the three airports serve as many as 21.6 million passenger movements and 152,766 aircraft movements, or cover 66% of the total passenger movements and 56% of the total aircraft movements at 15 of our airports during the first semester of 2023," said Faik Fahmi.
