China Masters 2024: 6 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For The Second Round

JAKARTA The majority of Indonesian badminton players who play in the 2024 China Masters still survive the total 11 representatives sent to the event.

The match from the first round of the BWF Super 750 level event was completed on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, WIB night. Indonesia also received an additional three tickets from six representatives who played.

The three tickets were obtained by mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, men's doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Previously, on the first day yesterday, November 19, 2024, Indonesia also secured the same number of tickets from the five representatives who played.

The tickets were obtained by the men's singles duo, Jonatan Christie and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, as well as the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

The number of Indonesian representatives who qualified for the second round of this tournament may be more if no one directly faced each other.

Clashes between fellow Indonesian representatives in the first half occurred between Sabar/Reza versus Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Fajar/Rian against Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, and Febriana/Amallia against Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Febriana/Amallia got a ticket after their opponents withdrew. The decision not to continue the game was made because Lanny suffered an injury to the arm after making the wrong move.

The series of matches from the second round on Thursday, November 21, 2024, will start at 09.00 am local time or 08.00 WIB.
