Prevent Antraks From Entering, Regent Anne Ratna Closes 4 Animal Markets In Purwakarta

SOLO - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Purwakarta, West Java, has temporarily closed four animal markets to prevent attack disease following the discovery of an anti-exchange case in Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. "To anticipate the spread of BETraks disease to Purwakarta, one of the steps we are taking is to temporarily close all activities in the animal market," said Purwakarta Regent Anne Ratna Mustika in Purwakarta, Antara, Monday, July 10. The four closed animal markets are the Ciwareng Animal Market in Babakancikaao District, Citeko Animal Market in Plered District, Bojong Animal Market in Bojong District, and Wanayasa Animal Market in Wanayasa District. As is known, continued Regent Anne, the anti-extraction case in Gunung Kidul has resulted in three deaths and dozens of other people being exposed to the disease after consuming beef which is suspected of contracting an extrax disease. The closure of the four animal markets in the Purwakarta area officially began on July 10, 2023. The closing instructions are based on letter Number: PT.01/1950-Disanak/2023, regarding the temporary closure of the animal market in Purwakarta. The letter dated July 7, 2023, was signed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Purwakarta Norman Nugraha. In the letter, it was stated that the animal market in Purwakarta would only be reopened until further notice. The Regent said that his party was aware of the attracting case because Purwakarta had a history of the case that occurred in 1999 in Cibatu District in an camel bird. In addition to closing the animal market, the regent has also instructed the Fisheries and Livestock Service (Disanak) to continue to increase vigilance and tighten trade traffic for animals entering or leaving through the Purwakarta area. "All related parties must increase their awareness of this anti-extraction disease. Everything must be monitored closely. We all have to work hard to ensure this disease does not spread," he said.

The step to close the animal market and tighten animal traffic is a follow-up to the previous steps that Diskanak Purwakarta has taken, namely routine anti-quark vaccinations every year for livestock, especially cattle, buffalo, and sheep.
