JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appreciates the South Jakarta District Court (PN) for rejecting the pretrial of Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Hasbi Hasan. This decision further strengthens the process of investigating the alleged bribery case management in accordance with the rules.

"From the start, we are very confident that the KPK investigation process has been carried out according to procedures. So it is appropriate if the request is rejected," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Monday, July 10.

"We appreciate the judge for this decision at the South Jakarta District Court," he continued.

Meanwhile, in a different statement Ali said there were 140 pieces of evidence and an expert presented at the trial. They strengthened the argument from the anti-corruption commission that Hasbi was a suspect.

Hasbi filed a pretrial lawsuit with the South Jakarta District Court for not accepting being named a suspect. This lawsuit is registered under number 49/Pid.Pra/2023/PN JKT.SEL which was later rejected on Monday, July 10.

The panel of judges is of the opinion that the KPK is in accordance with legal procedures when determining Hasbi as a suspect. The development of this case also follows the existing standard rules.

The KPK has named Hasbi Hasan and Independent Commissioner of PT Wika Beton, Dadan Tri Yudianto as suspects in alleged bribery in case management.

The KPK suspects that Hasbi Hasan received money from Dadan Tri Yudianto. He is suspected of pocketing part of the Rp11.2 billion received by the former Independent Commissioner of PT Wika Beton.

The money was called by the anti-corruption commission as a fee for cassation management with the defendant Budiman Gandi Suparman in the Supreme Court. The giving was made after Dadan asked Hasbi to help secure the KSP Inti Dana case.

Currently Dadan has been detained at the KPK detention center. Meanwhile, Hasbi has not yet felt the detention cell and was monitored so as not to escape.
