Motorcycle Gangs Attacking Residents At The Makassar Manggala Ronda Post Arrested

Makassar City Police released 10 people suspected of being a motorcycle gang group who after attacking residents who were at the BTN Makkio Baji Siskamling Post, Manggala District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"We have secured this gang of gangs carrying out attacks and arrows. There was one victim, he was hit by an arrow in the hand. The incident occurred on June 6, 2023. These ten people came to surrender properly and were escorted by their parents," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Makassar Police AKBP Ridwan JM Hutagaol as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.

This video of the motorcycle gang attack went viral on social media. The perpetrator attacked a person who was sitting at the Siskamling guard post. The police then moved and looked for the perpetrators, but the perpetrators chose to surrender.

For the motive of the attack, this group felt threatened and then attacked back. Regarding the alleged wrong target for revenge, the police are still investigating it.

"There were two bows (ketapel) used to attack people in Poskamling that were confiscated as evidence. The attack was carried out at two points. We apply Article 351 of the Criminal Code with a threat of nine years in prison," he said.
