The speed boat belonging to a resident of Kelaan Village named Sostenes Lutlutur (51) with Andre Talutu (21) initially brought Aipda Fransiskus, Bripka Charles Lutlutur and Briptu Luki Kepilaa from Kelaan Village in North Tanimbar District to Romean Village.
However, while in the Rafruan Strait between Kelaan and Romean Villages, the speed boat sank due to being hit by high waves and each passenger trying to save himself.
At around 03.00 WIT, Sostenes and Andre Talutu managed to swim to Romean Village and reported the incident.
So that several speed boads belonging to the people of Romean Village went to the sea to search and from the search results at around 04.00 WIT, two members of the Fordata Police on behalf of Bripka Charles Lutlutur and Brigadier Luky Kepilaan were found safe.
"Until now, Aipda Fransiskus Kelbulan has not been found, so the people of Romean Village and Kelan Village are still searching in the sea," said Mustari.
After receiving the incident report, the Fordata Police Chief has also asked the community who owns the speed boad to help search for the victims.
