Two Abortion Suspects In Kemayoran Turned Out To Be Similar Case Recidivists, No Medical Background

JAKARTA - The two main suspects for the abortion with the initials SM (51) and NA (33) were recidivist similar cases who had just been released from prison in May and June 2022. Both of them came from the same abortion network, only different locations.

"These two people have already served their sentences, they both received a sentence of 2.8 years. They just left for their sentence," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin at the scene, Jalan Merah Delima, Sumur Batu Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, Monday, June 3.

"After leaving for punishment, the person concerned is thinking about establishing a clinic and practicing it directly. This is evident from the background of these two people who do not have a medical background, they do not know at all," he said.

Suspect SM only has experience from previous abortion clinics in East Jakarta and NA is Cikini's network.

"We are still developing the mode, including a closed pattern that is carried out because we do not find a register book inside, as usual a clinic where the patient is always registered with names, addresses, so on but not found. They only use cellphones," he said.

Kombes Komarudin explained that this group of SM suspects was deliberately looking for a location of practice with a quiet atmosphere. This was done so that their practice went smoothly without the local residents knowing.

"This is of course the pattern used by every perpetrator of the crime, especially for abortion clinics, they will find a safe environment that is not too crowded. This environment is very comfortable, access is easy to get in and out of the car," he explained.

The disclosure of this illegal abortion clinic was carried out based on reports from the public.

"We appreciate residents who feel that there are irregularities in the activities of new residents, which are visited by young women in particular. We will follow up. This pattern of crime is very neat but we managed to dismantle it," he said.

From the Kemayoran group's abortion network, a total of 9 suspects were arrested, including the initials SM (51) abortion executor, NA (33) patient seeker, SW (42) assistant and SA (30) driver. While the other 5 suspects are abortion patients.
