Attacked By Youth Groups Using Firecrackers And Sajam, Residents Of Jalan Percetakan Negara Ask For Portal

JAKARTA - A motorized gangster group attacked residents on Jalan Percetakan Negara 1, Cempaka Putih District, Central Jakarta on Sunday, July 2. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the crime scene (TKP).

Based on the surveillance camera footage, a group of teenagers armed with sharp weapons was seen carrying out the attack. In fact, the perpetrators also used firecrackers that were shot into residential areas.

According to Indri's statement, one of the local residents said the teenagers arrived from Jalan Percetakan Negara II to Jalan Percetakan Negara I. At the time of the incident, many residents were burning satay.

"They attacked residents with firecrackers, we didn't come out. After they finished playing with firecrackers we immediately came out and they immediately fled," he told reporters, Monday, July 3.

Furthermore, Indri said, the police had come to the location to disperse.

"However, it is very unfortunate that one of our residents was arrested and not the one who attacked the residents who were arrested," he said.

"When our residents were arrested, we had a chance to argue because it was not the residents who attacked and finally released them. But there was one person who was arrested for questioning," he added.

Indri explained that a number of sharp weapons were also secured, such as large machetes. In this incident there were no injuries or fatalities. Residents also asked that a portal be built so that other people do not easily enter.

"We hope that a portal will be built, so that similar incidents do not happen again," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cempaka Putih Police, Kompol Bernard Saragih, denied that there had been no incidents of attacks by residents by a group of teenagers in his area.

"In our area there is none, if the state printing road enters Johar Baru, it is not Cempaka Putih," he briefly confirmed, Monday, July 3.
