Victims Reach Dozens Of People, Prosecutor's Office Demands Maximum 12 Years Of Trafficking In Persons In NTT

Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial High Prosecutor's Office, Hutama Wisnu, said the Prosecutor's Office would definitely demand a sentence of 12 years in prison against the perpetrators of the crime of trafficking in persons in the area. "The efforts to eradicate TIP are also a serious concern for the Prosecutor's Office in NTT, so of course in the process of prosecuting the perpetrators who are undergoing trial in court are required to be sentenced to 12 years in prison from the threat of a sentence of 15 years in prison," said Head of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office Hutama Wisnu, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 23. He said this was related to the Attorney's efforts in NTT in overcoming cases of crimes of trafficking in persons. He said. one of the prosecutors demanded a 12-year prison sentence because the perpetrators of trafficking people in Kupang had repeatedly done the same thing as the number of victims reached 26 people.

He said he had instructed all levels of the prosecutor's office in this island-based province to handle cases of trafficking in persons professionally and prosecute the perpetrators with optimal punishment. He added that in order to reveal all the perpetrators involved, cooperation from the Police is needed to be able to uncover all perpetrators involved in trading networks in NTT so that trade cases in NTT can be suppressed.
