BOGOR - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he respected the ongoing legal process related to the examination of the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). "Yes, respect the existing law, respect the existing legal process," said Jokowi in Bogor Regency, West Java, Antara, Wednesday, June 21. Minister of Agriculture Syahrul on Monday, June 19 fulfilled the KPK's summons to attend the Red and White Building to provide information regarding the alleged corruption investigation case at the Ministry of Agriculture. Syahrul was present at the KPK after his submission for the resignation of the examination until June 27, 2023 was responded to by the anti-corruption agency with a request for attendance for examination on June 19, 2023. The KPK previously revealed that it had examined dozens of witnesses related to the investigation into the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said his party was focusing on gathering witness statements. After all witness statements are declared complete, the KPK investigation team will conclude whether the case is feasible to continue the legal process. "Next, I think we will determine the attitude after the invited parties are all present and it is enough that we can draw conclusions on several things in the investigation process," said Ali. Ali also reiterated that the investigation into the alleged corruption was aimed at the alleged criminal act at the Ministry of Agriculture, not only focused on the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
