Entering Through South Sumatra, 20 Kg Of Methamphetamine Secured By Central Jakarta Porles Comes From Thailand

Central Jakarta Metro Police said the packaging of methamphetamine on the inside of a Chinese green tea package smuggled by three suspects with the initials W, J, MD was written in the Thai letter in a package of methamphetamine.

"If we look at the writing from Thailand, it may be sent by sea. The wrap is a symbol of an elephant bearing Thai and then wrapped in Chinese green tea. We secure it from the South Sumatra region," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin, Friday, June 16.

In addition to arresting three international network of methamphetamine couriers, the Central Jakarta Metro Police also confiscated a truck driven by the suspect with the initials W to send 20.63 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

"We confiscated the methamphetamine transport truck. This is an international network, the same as some time ago we revealed. They are still in the same network," he said.

Later, the three couriers delivering the large amount of methamphetamine will be handed over to the Navy suspect in the Kapuk area, North Jakarta. The methamphetamine is planned to be circulated in a kilogram fraction of up to one ounce or 100 grams.

"They sell 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine for IDR 1.5 billion. They sell per gram for IDR 1.5 million. From kilograms it is broken into 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine packages. In fact, these drug consumers have gone to the lower levels of society because they have been broken into small packages for IDR 200 thousand," he said.

For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 112 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 of the Criminal Code.

The suspect with the initials W admitted that he had sent large amounts of crystal methamphetamine three times to the Kapuk area, North Jakarta. In the action, W did not work alone. He was assisted by suspects J and MD who acted as truck assistants.

However, in the third shipment, namely carrying 20.63 kg of crystal methamphetamine, the three suspects were finally arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit.

"In the first shipment, the three suspects brought 8 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine with a salary of Rp. 250 million. The first shipment was successful. Then the second shipment, suspect W, J and MD sent 15 kg of crystal methamphetamine with a salary of Rp. 350 million," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin, Friday, June 16.
