JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took the time to have coffee with a number of officials after the opening of the Jakarta Fair 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

After inaugurating the opening of the Jakarta Fair, Jokowi toured the food, beverage, and goods booths in the Pekan Raya Jakarta area. The former governor of DKI also greeted the residents who surrounded him.

Jokowi then approached one of the coffee product booths. He took the time to coffee while sitting at the table with Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman and his wife who were also Jokowi's younger siblings, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono.

Jokowi and the officials seemed to chat casually while tasting coffee. The boisterousness of the surrounding atmosphere makes the chat invisible from a distance.

Previously, Jokowi inaugurated the opening of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2023 exhibition and entertainment event at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Central Jakarta.

On stage, Jokowi beat the drums as a marker of the opening of the Jakarta Fair with the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Seskab Pramono Anung, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno, President Director of PT JIExpo Siti Hartati Murdaya, and Chairman of the Jakarta Organizing Committee Fair Karuna Murdaya. This opening was accompanied by the launch of fireworks.

In his remarks, Jokowi views the Jakarta Fair or the Jakarta Grand Week (PRJ) as an annual activity that is quite familiar with Jakarta residents.

"Every year his presence is always awaited by the people of Jakarta and marks the anniversary of the City of Jakarta, namely on June 22, next week," said Jokowi.

Jokowi said, the Jakarta Fair is the largest and most complete exhibition event in Southeast Asia. This event has also been held for the 54th time.

"This means that it has exceeded half a century. Last year it was visited by 6.9 million visitors with 7.3 trillion transactions. A small amount. Therefore, on this good occasion, I would like to wish you a happy birthday in the 496th city of Jakarta," he said.
