KPK Returns State Assets Of IDR 154.1 Billion

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has succeeded in restoring state assets or asset recovery resulting from criminal acts of corruption amounting to Rp154.10 billion from January-May 2023.

"As of May 2023, the KPK has saved or asset recovery of Rp. 154.10 billion from the target of Rp. 141 billion in 2023," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 9.

Meanwhile, in 2022 the assets resulting from criminal acts of corruption that have been returned to the state treasury amounted to Rp575.54 billion, an increase of Rp158.8 billion when compared to 2021.

Ali also said that increasing the return of asset recovery every year is certainly good news for eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

Not only that, in 2023 the KPK has also imposed articles of money laundering (TPPU) on four corruption suspects.

The imposition of the money laundering offense article is important to optimize assets resulting from corruption because the KPK often finds the fact that corruptors like to disguise and hide their assets resulting from corruption.

However, the KPK will continue to optimize this achievement by improving the quality of the management of confiscated goods or loot so that their value is maintained when auctioned.
