Johan Budi Suggests Head Of BNN And BNPT To Be Served As Four-Star Generals

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR Johan Budi suggested that the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) be held as four-star generals.

"If it is allowed and I will use my constitutional rights, so that the Head of BNPT, Head of BNN, not three stars, but four stars," said Johan during a working meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the Head of BNPT Komjen Pol Rycko Amelza Dahniel and the Head of BNN Komjen Pol Petrus Golose at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 7, was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the reason for the proposal was so that the leaders of BNPT and BNN were equal to the National Police Chief. He wants the two state institutions to maintain their dignity and independence.

"If it's a three star, it's still under the National Police Chief, it should be independent and become a four star, especially a body. The head of the agency should be equal to the minister, if I'm not mistaken," he explained.

Johan also stated that Rycko Amelza Dahniel and Petrus Golose were worthy of the rank of four stars.

Meanwhile, member of Commission III Komjen Pol. (Ret.) Adang Daradjatun said that the proposed head of BNN and BNPT as four stars was the policy of government leadership and political decisions.

He did not question what policies were taken by the government, as long as it was in order to improve or increase cooperation between ministries and institutions.

Meanwhile, the Head of BNN Komjen Pol Petrus Golose who was confirmed after a working meeting with the DPR answered briefly that he is currently a three-star ministerial level.

"What is clear is that I am now a three-star ministerial level, that's all," he said.

Commission III of the DPR held a working meeting with the Head of BNPT and BNN regarding the budget work plan (RKA) and the government's (RKP) ministry/institutional work plan in 2024.
