JABAR - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5.1 rocked the southeast of Sukabumi City, West Java at 14:23.04 WIB, Tuesday, June 6.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake was felt in the district city which is next door to Sukabumi.

"The epicenter was in the sea 126 km southeast of Sukabumi City," wrote BMKG on its official website, Tuesday, June 6.

The earthquake with a depth of 10 km was felt on the MMI III-IV scale in Sukabumi Regency, III Pelabuhan Ratu, II-III Cianjur Regency.

Furthermore, the second scale in Garut Regency, II Tasikmalaya City, II-III Lebak Regency, II-III in Cianjur City, II-III in Bandung City, and a scale III in Pangalengan.

BMKG asked the public to be aware of aftershocks centered at sea, precisely at 8.05 south latitude and 107.01 east longitude.
