After Meeting Jokowi, KAHMI EMPHASIZED Independently In The Face Of The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The National Assembly Presidium Coordinator of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) Ahmad Doli Kurnia emphasized that his institution is independent in facing the 2024 General Election.

Doli emphasized this after meeting with President Joko Widodo to report and introduce the new management of KAHMI to the head of state at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, June 5.

"We explain that KAHMI is an independent organization, KAHMI is a follow-up organization from the Islamic Student Association (HMI). We were HMI activists who later became alumni, forming an independent KAHMI organization. Independently it is organizational and ethical independence," said Doli.

Doli said, on the other hand, KAHMI certainly also has a subjectivity in dealing with political events, but he ensures that the subjectivity, as agreed in the KAHMI National Working Meeting, will be subjective to productiveness, not counterproductive to the interests of the nation and state, society and organization.

Therefore, he continued, to implement the independence of KAHMI as an organization, KAHMI in September or October 2023 will hold a large meeting between the HMI and KAHMI big families to discuss the narrative of Indonesia's upcoming 5-10 years of conception.

The results of the meeting will be submitted to all presidential and vice presidential candidates as well as to political parties as KAHMI's contribution to Indonesia's future.
