West Sumatra BNNP Reveals Circulation Of 1.9 Kg Of Methamphetamine Controlled From Prisons

The Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of West Sumatra revealed the circulation of 1,997 grams of methamphetamine or 1.99 kilograms and 6,000 ecstasy pills controlled from within Lapas II Muaro Padang.

West Sumatra BNNP Head Brigadier General Sukria Gaos said the arrests were made by a joint team of West Sumatra BNNP and Payakumbuh BNNK on Wednesday (24/5) at the Rupiah Nagari Simalang Hall, Payakumbuh District, 50 Kota on Wednesday (24/5).

The four perpetrators are two inmates in Muaro Padang Prison, namely M (28 and ND (29) who act as controllers of the purchase of these illicit goods.

"The two perpetrators controlled the DM perpetrators to take the illicit goods," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator DM (21) who was caught at the scene in Limapuluh Kota Regency and the other perpetrator DR, who had become a DPO who was caught in Lampung.

He said the arrests began with public reports regarding information on the delivery of narcotics suspected of being methamphetamine and ecstasy from Pekanbaru City to West Sumatra Province, the West Sumatra BNNP Eradication Division Team to Payakumbuh to conduct an investigation. After arriving at Payakumbuh City, the Eradication Division Team coordinated with the Payakumbuh BNNK moving towards the location

The joint team immediately carried out sweeping and monitoring of passing vehicles and stopped a car with the police number BA 1989 XF suspected of carrying narcotics. When stopped by officers, the suspect's car immediately fled from the pursuit of the officers. Then officers chased the car and found the suspect's car had stopped and entered a ditch in the area of the Rupi Nagari Simalanggang Hall, Payakumbuh District, Limapuluh Kota Regency.

When the team arrived, the perpetrator managed to escape and from the results of the search, officers found two large packages of methamphetamine wrapped in green Chinese tea packaging and large plastic containing six large packages wrapped in clear plastic suspected of being six thousand orange ecstasy pills.

After that the Joint Team conducted a search in plantation areas and rice fields, officers and residents found a perpetrator with the initials DM (21). The team immediately interrogated the DM perpetrator and it turned out that the DM perpetrators would pick up drugs from DR in Pekanbaru.

Officers received information that the DR perpetrator was in the Jambi area, South Sumatra and finally in Lampung.

"The West Sumatra BNNP immediately coordinated with the BNN RI team and managed to find and arrest DR," he said.

The four perpetrators are suspected of being violated by Article 115 paragraph 2, 112 paragraph 2 Jo 114 paragraph 2 of Law 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
