Bali Police Unloading International Drug Network Involves Russian Citizens, Drugs Rp887 Million Confiscated

Five suspects in the possession and circulation of international network narcotics from Russia and Uzbekistan/ANTARA/Rolandus Nampu

DENPASAR - Bali Police dismantled an international drug network involving foreign nationals (WNA) from Russia and Uzbekistan.

Wadiresnarkoba Polda Bali AKBP Panco Indriyo said the police arrested three perpetrators of the international drug network, namely Khamidov Maglomed (Russia), Komarov Denis (Russia), and Romanov Denis (Uzbekistan), Azamat Babniyazov (WNI) and Sugiharto (WNI).

In addition, the Bali Police also arrested two residents of Uzbekistan with the initials YO and MA, but after being proven not to have narcotics, both were handed over to immigration for violating the residence permit.

"This is an international network from Uzbekistan to Russia. We have secured the alleged perpetrators (operating) in four locations," Panco said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 30.

Panco said the disclosure of the case of narcotics trafficking in international networks began with public reports regarding the rampant drug trafficking around the Kuta area, Badung Regency, Bali, which was allegedly controlled by foreign nationals.

Panco said the perpetrators were secured in different places with evidence, namely from suspects AB and SU who were arrested in front of the Ramayana Hotel with evidence of 1,678 grams net marijuana, 67 grams net hasish, and three airsoft guns.

"From AB, three airsoft guns were found, but he admitted that this was a deposit from his colleague who was in Malaysia," he said.

Meanwhile, from the suspects KD and RD who were secured on Jalan Yudistira, Tampak Siring Village, the police confiscated 101.4 grams of narcotic evidence net marijuana and 7.54 net hashish.

Of the perpetrators YO and MA who were secured at Jalan Kartika Plaza Gang Samudra, Kuta District, the police received 994 grams net nazwar which were wrapped in 23 clear plastics.

However, Ponco said after laboratory tests, YO and MA's belongings did not contain narcotics preparations but only contained nicotine. After further examination, it turned out that the two Uzbekistanns exceeded the stay permit period because it was immediately handed over to the Immigration Office for deportation.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator KM was arrested at a rented house on Bidadari Street, North Kuta District and found evidence in the form of 39.23 grams net marijuana, 129.25 grams net hashish, 60.88 grams net cocaine.

Ponco said the amount of evidence confiscated by the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate was marijuana weighing 1,818.63 grams net, hashis 203.9 grams net, cocaine 60,88 grams net, nazwar 994 grams net and three airsoft guns. The overall price of the evidence is estimated at Rp887,558,000.

"The modus operandi of the five suspects is to sell, buy, become an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanging, handing over, or receiving narcotics class I of marijuana, hasis and cocaine," said Panco.

For this action, the five suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph (1), Article 111 paragraph (1) and Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
