Having Fun With Activities In The Middle Of Rice Fields, Convicted Of Corruption In Mataram Farmer's Credit Arrested In East Kalimantan

The Mataram District Attorney's Office (Kejari) team, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), arrested a fugitive 15 years in a corruption case in Mataram's plantation fund (KUT) named Hamdun.

Hamdun, who was active in the middle of a rice field in Paser Belengkong Village, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), was secured without a fight.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Mataram Kejari, Ida Bagus Putu Widnyana, said that Hamdun is currently being held at the Class II B state detention center in Tanah Grogot, East Kalimantan.

"To be brought to Mataram, we are worried about security. Therefore, we carried out the execution of our detention at the Tanah Grogot Rutan," he said by telephone, Friday, May 26, confiscated by Antara.

Widnyana added that the Mataram Kejari also considered the whereabouts of the families of the convicts of corruption in the KUT fund loan in 2008 who are currently in East Kalimantan.

"So, Hamdun is marrying a person here (Kaltim), already has children too. That is our humanitarian consideration so that he can be close to his family," he said.

Widnyana said the Mataram Kejari team arrested Hamdun with the Adhyaksa Monitoring Center (AMC) Intelligence Team of the Attorney General's Office.

Hamdun was arrested on Thursday, May 25 at around 18.00 WITA. "After the arrest, we took the person concerned to the Paser Kejari Office," he said.

The Mataram Kejari arrested Hamdun based on the Supreme Court's Cassation Decision Number: 1222 K/Pid.Sus/2009, dated August 18, 2010.

In the verdict, the judge sentenced him to 1 year in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to 2 months in prison.

The verdict refers to the indictment of Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

From this KUT loan corruption case, state losses are estimated at IDR 1.2 billion. However, Widnyana said, the judge in the decision did not charge Hamdun as a channeler of KUT funds to compensate for state losses.

"So, in this case there are three convicts, and Hamdun is the last fugitive we have arrested, the other two we have arrested first. For replacement money, it has been charged to other convicts. For Hamdun, nothing is charged," he said.
