2 Suspects In The Corruption Case Of The Serasi Program Of The South Sumatra OKU Agriculture Service Detained At The Baturaja Detention Center

SOUTH SUMATRA - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU) has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of the program to save the prosperous swampland of OKU Agriculture Service in 2019.

OKU Chief Prosecutor Choirun Parapat said the suspect, insal AP, was an official at the OKU Agriculture Service as well as a Commitment Making Officer (PPK).

Meanwhile, another suspect HH served as staff in the case.

"Today they were officially named suspects and immediately detained," said Choirun in Baturaja, OKU, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Thursday, May 25, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the determination of the suspect was after the investigative team found two pieces of evidence in the process of investigating the Serasi Program activities sourced from APBN funds for the 2019 fiscal year with a value of Rp1,290,000,000 for six farmer groups in OKU.

The suspects are jointly suspected of having deviated from the use of activity funds that should have been used by farmer groups, but were used for other purposes outside of their designation and also for personal interests.

This contradicts the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 03/kpts/RC.210/B/02/2019 where SERASI is a program implemented by people who are members of farmer groups independently.

"For the purposes of investigating, the suspect is being held at the Baturaja Detention Center," he said.

Choirun said the state loss due to the alleged corruption case of the Serasi program of the OKU Agriculture Service was estimated at IDR 300 million.

In his investigation, Choirun said investigators had examined 25 witnesses from elements of the OKU Agriculture Service, as well as farmer groups of the Serasi Program, the community and other witnesses.

Investigators will also continue to investigate allegations of corruption in order to find out whether any other suspects were involved, then immediately complete the investigation process and then transfer the case to court.

For their actions, the suspects are suspected of violating subsidiaries, namely Premier Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 which has been amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code Subsidair Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 which has been amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
