Indonesia-Iran Voice Access To Education For Women In Afghanistan

BOGOR - The Government of Indonesia and the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to voice the importance of accessing education for women in Afghanistan and overcoming the humanitarian crisis in the country.

"We agreed to continue to support the Palestinian people's struggle and overcome the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, by continuing to voice access to education for women in Afghanistan and continuing to provide humanitarian assistance," said President Joko Widodo when receiving a state visit from Presidential Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi at the Bogor Palace, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

In addition to discussing strengthening bilateral cooperation, the two leaders also discussed the world's geopolitical situation.

In line with Jokowi, SeyyedEbrahim Raisi also stated that Indonesia has become a friend and a relative country in dealing with regional and international issues.

Apart from being a fellow member of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OKI) and a member of the Non-Aligned Movement countries, Indonesia is also a country with the largest Muslim population.

Raisi said his party had a similar vision of supporting the Afghan people to create an inclusive government that represents religion and ethnic groups.

He also agreed to access education at various levels for women. Thanks to the Islamic revolution in Iran, Raisi assessed that women can now be present in various fields, namely politics, social, culture, education, health, and medicine.

"Afghan women and Afghan girls can create a great honor for the country, because they are an honor for Muslims, until now the resistance and establishment are an honor," said Raisi.
