CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) asked residents who want to seek work abroad through vacancies on social media to be more vigilant because many sites open false job vacancies info.

The head of the Cianjur Tohari Sastra Manpower and Transmigration Office said that for residents who are interested in working abroad, it is better to seek deeper information or contact the Transmigration Office to ensure the truth of the vacancy so as not to become victims of human sales.

His party noted that since the last few weeks, more than 8 reports have come from the family or directly from migrant workers who have had problems through social media regarding their whereabouts after working abroad.

Most of them go illegally or non-procedurally through naughty sponsors or are deceived by job vacancies abroad which are broadcast by sponsors on social media or unofficial sites with the lure of large salaries.

"When migrant workers experience problems, the sponsors who send them disappear and are irresponsible, so it is difficult for us to provide assistance, so we remind them to be more observant and vigilant when they want to work abroad," he said.

Chairman of the Greater Indonesia Workers Association (Astakira) Renewal, Ali Hildan, said that until now there are still many rogue sponsors who send migrant workers, especially from Cianjur to prohibited countries with sweet promises, including capturing victims through unofficial sites on social media.

"After departing and having problems in the placement country, the sponsors disappeared. Because they are still looking for prey in various areas, including in Cianjur, we ask the agencies and legal institutions to immediately take action because there have been many victims," he said.

Over the past week, he said, his party had received many reports of troubled migrant workers from Cianjur who asked to be sent home because they were deceived by rogue sponsors who promised to place them in a country that was not included in a moratorium or prohibited country.
