Tourists Caught Bringing A Mexican Salamander, Chinese Netizens Heboh

JAKARTA - Netizens in China were shocked by the incident of the arrest of a tourist caught carrying a Mexican balander.

Border checkpoint officers in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, have stopped a border crosser. The person is suspected of carrying a small water tank while crossing the China-Hong Kong border post.

When the post staff opened the water tank, a 20-centimeter amphibious animal was found weighing 150 grams in the tank.

The local institution identified the six-headed animal as a Mexican balander. The case has been transferred to the relevant department for further action.

Chinese netizens said the attack on the amphibious species named Latin Axolotl was very serious and should not be tolerated.

China is one of the countries that has been severely harmed by the attack on the endangered species, some experts have said, as quoted by local media.

These species can have a severe impact on the agriculture, forestry and livestock sectors.
