Pork Eating Content That Made Celebrity Lina Mukherjee Threatened With 6 Years In Prison

PALEMBANG - An Instagram and TikTok social media celebrity (selebgram) @Linamukherjee_ faces up to 6 years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion for alleged blasphemy cases through content eating pork skin.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Agung Marlianto, explained that the threat of a maximum prison sentence is contained in Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (2) of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) as amended by Law Number 19 of 2016.

In this case, investigators from the Sub-Directorate V Cyber Polda of South Sumatra received sufficient evidence supported by the statements of several witnesses and experts.

The evidence includes a fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) stating the information submitted by the suspect whose real name is LL, including blasphemy.

From there, he said, the case that was suspected of a woman with the initials LL from Samarinda, South Kalimantan, was raised to the investigation stage.

"So, investigators involve many experts, ranging from sociologists, linguists, criminal experts, and IT experts, then strengthened through the MUI fatwa. All of them stated that LL blasphemed religion," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 27.

On this matter, Agung hopes that the LL suspect will be cooperative in being able to attend to fulfill the police investigation.

The examination is scheduled to take place on May 2, 2023 at the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters, Palembang, as conveyed by a second summons to the suspect a few days ago.

If the suspect does not fulfill the second summons, he continued, in accordance with the legal provisions, the police can carry out forced pick-up.

Previously, a legal adviser named Sapriadi reported a celebrity with the initials LL to the SPKT of the South Sumatra Regional Police on March 15, 2023.

At that time, LL was reported for allegedly committing religion through video content that was widely spread through the TikTok and Instagram accounts @Linamukherjee_.

In the video that lasts more than 5 minutes, LL admits that he is a Muslim who deliberately eats pork skin by reciting prayers even though the law is haram.
