JAKARTA - Corruption Investigators at the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office (NTT Attorney) are investigating the West Manggarai Regent, Agustinus Ch Dulla.

Agustinus is being investigated in connection with the alleged criminal act of selling land assets covering 30 hectares of land belonging to the local district government which caused the state loss of Rp1.3 trillion.

The head of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Yulianto, through the Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim, said that Agustinus' examination was in his capacity as a suspect.

"The West Manggarai Regent is currently being investigated by the NTT Prosecutor's Office. This examination is being carried out as a suspect," said Abdul Hakim, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 18.

Abdul Hakim admitted that he could not confirm whether the West Manggarai Regent was immediately detained. "We do not know whether he was immediately detained or not, because that is under the authority of investigators," he said.

Agustinus Ch Dulla has been named as a suspect along with 16 other suspects in the alleged sale of assets belonging to the government of Mabar covering 30 hectares in Labuan Bajo.

NTT Prosecutors have arrested 14 suspects. Meanwhile, the other 2, Veronika Sukur who was exposed to COVID-19 and the Regent of Mabar, Agustinus Ch Dulla, have not been detained.

The reason why Agustinus has not been detained is that there is no permit for examination and detention from the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri).

Meanwhile, the NTT Attorney General's Office investigators on Monday, January 18th conducted an investigation on ARN, the wife of the former Kupang mayor regarding the sale of land assets in Labuan Bajo.

According to Abdul Hakim, the ARN examination is still in the status of a witness in the case of the sale of land assets in Labuan Bajo.

"The ARN examination is still a witness. We have not confirmed whether the status has changed, it all depends on the results of the examination carried out by investigators," he added.
