Heru Budi Teken Kepgub, Grants Rp75.4 Billion DKI Provincial Government To Polda Metro Immediately Disbursed

JAKARTA - The distribution of grant funds of Rp75.4 billion from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to Polda Metro Jaya will be disbursed soon. This grant comes from the 2023 regional budget (APBD). This disbursement will be immediately realized because the legal basis has been issued by Heru, namely the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 214 of 2023 concerning Grant Recipients in the Form of Money at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Service for Fiscal Year 2023. In Kepgub 214/2023, this grant is included in the budget post of the Transportation Service and the recipient of the grant, namely the Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya. "The Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency is fully responsible formally and materially for the allocation of grants," Heru wrote in Kepgub 214/2023 quoted on Monday, April 17. "Recipients of grants in the form of money are fully responsible formally and officially for the use of grants in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," he continued. As recipients of the grant, the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya is asked to submit an accountability report on the use of grants to the Governor of DKI no later than 1 month after the implementation of the activity or January 10 next budget year. For information, this Rp75.4 billion grant will be used by Polda Metro Jaya for the procurement of advanced electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) this year. Some time ago, while attending a meeting of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD with the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman had mentioned the disbursement of the grant funds. Latif asked the DKI Provincial Government to disburse the grant funds according to schedule. Because, according to Latif, the addition of electronic ticketing cameras in Jakarta must be carried out as soon as possible. He said, traffic law enforcement in Jakarta, which is still manual, has been left behind with neighboring countries, one of which is Timor Leste. "If we don't get it as soon as possible, I'll be afraid that Jakarta will miss East Leste. Actually, Jakarta has been 10 years behind other big cities because if we still regulate the prosecution of violations manually," said Latif at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, January 24. In the procurement of additional ETLE cameras in 2023, the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya targets the disbursement of grant funds of IDR 75.4 billion from the APBD for the 2023 budget year to be carried out in March with the Governor of DKI's decision. Furthermore, there is a process of procuring the ETLE camera vendor auction in May and June. Next, the process of implementing the ETLE work at 70 camera placement points is carried out from July to November. Latif hopes that by the end of 2023, there will be 127 ETLE cameras ready to monitor traffic violations due to the timeliness of disbursement of the grant budget from the DKI Provincial Government.
