JAKARTA - The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) suggested that travelers not use motorbikes. The reason is, the risk of an accident is greater.

However, if there are residents who continue to use motorbikes, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has prepared a rest area in the form of service posts on arterial routes.

"Starting from the route to the east starting from Halim Lama following Kalimalang to Jatiwaringin, we have established a post," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Latif Usman, as quoted from Antara.

Latif explained that the "rest area" was also established on the Jakarta border to the west, namely the Tangerang area.

"Likewise, those who headed towards Tangerang from Daan Mogot to Tangerang along the border in Tangerang were ready," he said.

However, Latif still appealed to people who want to go home not to use motorbikes because it is more dangerous.

"If you continue to go home using a motorbike, you are advised to maintain physical condition and not force yourself to drive tired," he said.

The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya has also prepared special monitoring posts for motorcycles during the homecoming flow.

"Later on at the monitoring posts we will do such as checking points for vehicles that are not in accordance with the designation and are very dangerous for others and themselves, we will stop it first," said Latif Usman.

Latif added that his party will guard, especially roads that are the favorite routes for motorcycle users.

"Our main target is the Kalimalang route to the Bekasi border and also from the west, namely to Tangerang via Daan Mogot until later at the end of the Serang area," he said.

These two targets will be targeted by the Police, especially alternative lanes for motorcycles.

Latif also appealed to travelers not to use motorbikes because this vehicle is only used for close range.

"It is hoped that with the free homecoming from us and several related agencies in Jakarta, motorcycle users will switch to free homecoming or use buses," he said.

Latif also explained that his party would prioritize educating motorcyclists to stop and explain that going home on motorbikes is more dangerous.
