Takbiran Night In Pontianak Will Be Enlivened By Explosion Of 180 Cannons

A total of 180 carbit cannons were prepared to enliven the night of takbiran ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).

Chairman of the Pontianak City Karbit Cannon Communication Forum, Fajriudin Anshari, said that there were 17 groups that prepared 97 carbit cannons in the East Pontianak District.

In addition, he continued, there were 13 groups that prepared 78 carbit cannons in South Pontianak and Southeast Pontianak Districts.

"Then during the meeting there was a new addition from the Bansir youth group, they had five carbit cannons, so they were combined entirely into 180 carbit cannons," he said during a technical meeting on the implementation of the assessment at the 2023 carbit cannon festival in Pontianak, Monday, April 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

Of the 30 groups that prepared the carbide gun, he said, only 21 groups would take part in the assessment at the festival which was held on the night of the takbiran.

"According to the provisions set out in the forum, one group can include five beam cannons, no more or less than that. So, nine who do not participate in the festival will only be exhibitions," he said.

He explained that the assessment of the manufacture of carbide cannons includes the sound of a bang (50 percent), aspects of art and culture (30 percent), and the performance of the team (20 percent).

"The motive, which is included in the art value, is agreed not to use malls, but to make their own creations manually. Regarding culture, we must also create our own creations, not bring finished goods," he said.

Fajriudin said that the prize prepared for the winner of the 2023 karbit cannon competition was a total value of IDR 44 million.

"The total prize from the City Government was Rp. 44 million. The first winner received Rp. 15 million, the second winner was Rp. 10 million, the third winner was Rp. 7 million," he said.

He continued, the winner of hope one will get Rp5 million, the winner of hope two will get a prize of Rp4 million, and the winner of hope three will get a prize of Rp3 million.

According to him, the opening of the carbit cannon festival is planned to be held in Banjar Serasan Village, East Pontianak District.

"Later it will be opened directly by the Governor of West Kalimantan with a sign of landing a karbit cannon with other Forkopimda on the night of the takbiran," he said.
