Sued By The Batanghari Drainage Corruption Defendant Rp1 Billion, Jambi Prosecutor's Office Files Cassation

JAMBI - The public prosecutor (JPU) of the Batanghari District Attorney (Kejari) and the Jambi Attorney General's Office filed a memorandum of cassation for the compensation lawsuit filed by Laupoldo Pilas, a defendant in a corruption case of drainage in Batanghari Regency, Jambi.

Head of Jambi Attorney General's Office, Lexy Fatharani, said that the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) had submitted a counter cassation memorandum at the Batanghari District Court (PN) over a compensation lawsuit filed by the defendant in the corruption case against Attorney General cq. Kajari Batanghari on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

This civil lawsuit began with the dissatisfaction of the applicant who was named a suspect in a corruption case so that he filed a claim for compensation with a total material and immaterial loss of Rp. 1.01 billion.

Previously, in the Batanghari District Court decision dated March 3, 2023, the decision to reject the petitioner's application was unacceptable (niet ontvankelijk verklaard) and charged the Petitioner with a total of Rp917 thousand.

For this decision, the attorney for applicant Vernandus Hamonangan filed an appeal to the Supreme Court dated March 14, 2023.

The Jambi Prosecutor's Office as the defendant's attorney II, the Deputy Attorney General for Guidance, on March 28, 2023, has submitted a counter cassation memorandum to the cassation memory submitted by the Pilas Laupoldo Petitioner through his attorney.
