Train Accident In Jombang, DAOP 7 Madiun Demands Truck Drivers To Legal Path

JOKANG - PT Kereta Api Indonesia Operational Area 7 Madiun, East Java, will process the law and ask for compensation for lane damage and locomotives after a collision between a truck and a train at crossing number 76 between Jombang Station - Sembung Station, Jombang, Thursday, March 30.

KAI Daop 7 Madiun Public Relations Manager, Supriyanto, said that after the accident, the train evacuation process had been completed since 06.30 WIB.

Meanwhile, Turangga train series can be withdrawn to Sembung station, and departs again at 07.27 WIB by replacing the new locomotive.

"Masinis and assistant machinist survived. At 08.50 the locomotive was able to return to the train line and was pulled to Sembung station. After an inspection, it was then sent to Kertosono station. Meanwhile, the driver and assistant driver survived," Supriyanto said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 30.

Supriyanto admitted that as a result of this accident, PT KAI suffered a very big loss. In addition to the damage to the locomotive, there was also damage to the train line of approximately 900 meters. Also the slowdown in train travel, which was disrupted by the incident.

"Currently we are still calculating the losses. We will carry out legal proceedings and demands for compensation to the parties that resulted in the incident," he said.

He said, the train journey was also disrupted, including the Turangga train leaving for Sembung Station at 07.27 a.m. 222 minutes late, Bangunkarta train, Jombang - Pasar Senen departed from Sembung station 05.39 at 13 minutes slow, local economic train, 106 minutes late.

Meanwhile, KA Jayakarta, Surabaya - Pasar Senen was 53 minutes late, KA Pasundan, Surabaya - Bandung connection departed for Jombang station 35 minutes late, KA Mutiara Selatan, Bandung - Surabaya 28 minutes late, KA Dhoho (360) 62 minutes late and KA Dhoho (359) 66 minutes late.

"PT KAI will carry out legal proceedings and demands for compensation to the parties that resulted in the incident," he said.

In the Daop 7 Madiun area, there are currently 215 railroad crossings, with details of 89 crossings maintained, 126 crossings not maintained.

PT KAI appealed to the public to use vehicles that pass at a railroad crossing to be careful.

In accordance with Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Article 114, road users are required to prioritize trains and provide main rights to vehicles that first cross the rail.

"With the orderly rules of the road users and the optimal role of all policy makers, it is hoped that safety at level crossings can be realized. So that train travel is not disrupted and road users also safely arrive at their destination," said Supriyanto.

Previously, the Head of Gakum Laka Traffic Unit of the Jombang Police, Ipda Anang Setiyanto, said that the train and truck accidents were caused by a truck driven by Abdul Haris, a resident of Tulungagung who broke down while in the middle of the crossing. At the same time, the Turangga train drove from the west to the east of Surabaya.

"When he broke down and found out that the driver's train had immediately gone down to save himself. Because the distance was too close, the accident was inevitable," said Iptu Anang.

Mujib, one of the train passengers, said the accident occurred when the train was traveling from west to Surabaya. While at the crossing suddenly a truck broke down in the middle of the lane.
