Apindo: Meeting with the President Does Not Discuss Domestic Security Specifically

JAKARTA - Apindo Chairman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said that the meeting of entrepreneurs with President Prabowo Subianto discussed more about the global economy and geopolitics. He said there was no special discussion about domestic security.

Shinta conveyed this at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, July 31.

According to Shinta, President Prabowo used the meeting to explain his views on the global situation and Indonesia's position amid geopolitical pressures.

"Not really. So if the President sees it, we may see the global economic conditions," said Shinta when asked whether the security situation was discussed.

Shinta said that entrepreneurs indeed need to be prepared for geopolitical dynamics. Because, global pressure can affect the business world in the country.

"This entrepreneur also has to be prepared, that this geopolitical condition will definitely affect us," he said.

He said President Prabowo also again touched on the concept of Indonesia Incorporated. This concept emphasizes joint work between the government, the business world, and other stakeholders in driving the economy.

"Always message him about Indonesia Incorporated must be delivered," said Shinta.

According to Shinta, the context of the President's speech is more directed at what Indonesia needs and the steps that need to be taken in facing global dynamics.

He also assessed that the meeting provided a space for the business world to hear directly the government's policy direction.

Shinta emphasized that Apindo currently does not see security as a special factor that disrupts the business world.

"We don't see that the security situation is a factor at this time. So we don't have any specifics for security," he said.

Shinta's statement was made amid questions about a number of malls that put up fences. However, he said the issue had not become a widespread concern for Apindo.
