Ahead Of Ramadan, The West Sumatra Regency Government Removes The Cost Of 7 Years Motorbike Tax Arrears

Ahead of Ramadan 1444 Hidjri, the West Sumatra Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has intensified the socialization of vehicle tax relief through the Triple Untung Program which has been launched since March 2, 2023.

"Since the launch, people who take advantage of this program have not been optimal. We hope that people can take advantage of this momentum to take advantage of this relief," said Head of the West Sumatra Bapenda Maswar Dedi during the socialization of the Triple Untung Program, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 19.

He said this socialization is expected to make people understand and can pay their vehicle taxes, especially those who have been in arrears for years.

According to him, this is the last socialization carried out before Ramadan 1444 Hijri and also the Triple Untung Program was held until May 2, 2023 and there is still time for people who want to take advantage of it.

"We do massive socialization and don't let the public not know the Triple Untung program and also the abolition of vehicle registration numbers that are in arrears of seven years of tax," he said.

He said the West Sumatra Samsat Development Team consisting of the West Sumatra Bapenda, the West Sumatra Regional Police Ditlantas and Jasa Raharja had agreed to take firm action against vehicles that were in arrears of tax up to seven years.

"We continue to socialize so that people understand and are not surprised later if there is action against their vehicles," he said.

West Sumatra Police Traffic Director Kombes Pol Hilman Wijaya said this socialization was deliberately carried out in the center of the crowd so that it could be known to the wider community.

"We have held the first socialization at Transmart and today at the Car Free Day event on Jalan Rasuna Said, we hope that the public will understand this program and also the elimination of vehicles," he said.

He appealed to the public to optimally take advantage of the Triple Untung program and vehicle owners who have not changed their names to immediately take care of the nearest Samsat office.

"Immediately change the name because later we can send the wrong address to send a ticket or other things if the vehicle commits a traffic violation," he said.

"Let's come to fulfill our obligations so that vehicles are feasible and run on the highway," he said.

The Triple Untung program itself is the provision of relief from public tax payments from March 2 to May 2, 2023, which consists of free transfer fees for motorized vehicle names to II and Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB).

Then the principal transfer fee for motorized vehicle names to II and for vehicles outside West Sumatra is given a 50 percent discount for tax payments in the first year after changing names. And the third is free of fines for Mandatory Road Accident Funds (SWDKLLJ).
