High Water Level At Monitoring Post Depok Alert 3, Beware Of Floods On Ciliwung Riverbanks

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that the water level at the Depok Monitoring Post had risen to as high as 210 cm or entered Alert 3 status at 23.00 WIB, Friday, March 17.

Quoting the DKI BPBD official website, the water level at the Depok Monitoring Post has increased quite significantly after reaching a level of 150 cm at 22.00 WIB and 95 cm one hour earlier.

Due to the rising water level at the Depok Monitoring Post, the DKI BPBD asked residents in a number of areas around the Ciliwung River to be vigilant for the next six hours.

As reported by ANTARA, a number of areas that need to be vigilant are Balekambang, Bali Mester, Baru, Chinese Bidara, Bukit Duri, Cawang, Cikoko, Cililitan, Duren Tiga, Gedong, Jagakarsa, Jati Padang, Kalibata, Kalisari, Kampung Melayu and Kampung Tengah.

Then, Kebagusan, Kebon Baru, Kebon Manggis, Lenteng Agung, Manggarai, Pal Meriem, Pancoran, Pejaten Timur, Pengadegan, Rawajati, Srengseng Sawah, and Tanjung Barat.

BPBD DKI has issued a warning through the Disaster Early Warning System (DEWS).

Meanwhile, DKI BPBD noted that the water level at 11 other monitoring posts was quite safe at 23.00 WIB, except for the Fish Market Monitoring Post which was still on Alert 3 status since 21.00 WIB and is now at a level of 183 cm.
