JAKARTA - The PSI DPRD DKI Jakarta faction does not agree with the wishes of the Chairman of the Formula E Steering Committee, namely the Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia MPR Bambang Sesatyo, that Formula E be held until 2030.
Member of the PSI DPRD DKI Jakarta faction, Anthony Winza Prabowo, views that this electric car racing event will not trigger an increase in the use of electric-based vehicles by the public.
"Now what is the direct impact on people's use of electric cars? Is there any?" said Anthony to reporters, Thursday, March 16.
Currently, the government is indeed encouraging the growth of the use of electric vehicles with the aim of reducing air pollution levels and emission-free. However, according to Anthony, Formula E did not really play a role in this.
Better yet, continued Anthony, PT Jakarta Propertindo as the BUMD organizing the Formula E is diverting the costs of organizing the race to build public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) at many points.
"It's better, the money (organizing Formula E) is used to make charging electric cars everywhere, so that it becomes an incentive for people who want to buy electric cars," he said.
Chairman of the Formula E Steering Committee (SC) Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) has ambitious hopes about future Formula E events. He wants this electric car race to be held in Indonesia until 2030.
This was conveyed by Bamsoet after meeting the Acting (Acting) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall in order to discuss this year's Formula E. Bamsoet met Heru with Formula E Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo.
According to him, the Formula E contract extension until 2030 could be done. Bearing in mind, starting this year until 2024, Formula E will be held under a business-to-business (B2B) scheme between PT Jakarta Propertindo and Formula E Operations.
