Basarnas Explains SJ-182 Sriwijaya Air Search Scheme Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Head of the National Search and Relief Agency (Basarnas) Air Marshal TNI Bagus Puruhito said that the search for victims and materials for the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft will continue tomorrow.

Bagus said, on the fourth day of search tomorrow, the joint search team will expand the search area. Search was carried out on the surface of the ship along with dives.

"Tomorrow we plan to focus on carrying out the evacuation of the search for victims and the search for other materials. As well as the area we will expand on the surface by boat, under the surface by diving or by using the ship's sonar," said Bagus at the JICT II Integrated Command Post, Monday, January 11.

Tomorrow, the search for the black box or black box will also continue with diving and sonar equipment owned by the KRI Rigel ship.

Bagus admitted that the black box that would reveal the cause of the crash had not been found. However, the mapping of the black box signal area has been narrowed down. It's just that, shifting the location of the black box and covering material is an obstacle.

"We also carry out the black box material. We cannot say that we are looking for something below, we continue to visit it again, it is still there. Especially with heavy rain and storm conditions that are quite strong in the area," he said.

For optimal results, the team continues to carry out a search operation for 24 hours. "What is clear is that today we are still making optimum efforts to carry out the search," said Bagus.

A total of 27 body bags and 22 bags containing materials related to the downing of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft were collected by the joint SAR team in today's search operations.

"There are 18 body bags which are part of the victim's body, today we got 27 bags. Today we get 27 body bags containing human remains," he added.
